Chef David Anderson is firmly committed to utilizing only the finest animal-free, organically-grown, seasonal ingredients prepared with flair, innovation and imagination. Madeleine Bistro’s menus feature a diverse selection of artfully presented pan-ethnic dishes with a decidedly French influence. Although the techniques are French, inspiration for the dishes is culled from the world’s rich bounty of ethnic cuisines, as well as playful takes on American comfort food favorites (dishes such as Chicken-Fried Seitan and Banasas Foster Split spring to mind). The final piece of the puzzle is Southern California’s incredible abundance of top notch organic farmers, whose product allows Chef Anderson to realize his dream of allowing the menu “to be dictated by the whim of the seasons.”

Three outstanding appetizers we recommend are the Nori Maki (vegan sushi), Lentil Walnut Pate, and the No-Cheez which is a combo plate of guacamole, a black bean dip, a creative carrot salsa, and tofu sour cream all served with blue and yellow corn chips. The Meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy are great! The Reuben Sandwich was a highlight as well.

Vegans will want to pass on the soy cheese that contains casein.
